Mott Manufacturing Commissions New Wood Casework Manufacturing Plant in Lewisburg, WV USA
April 15, 2009
Brantford, Ontario
Mott Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of laboratory furniture and fume hoods
has just commissioned a new plant dedicated to the manufacture of wood casework
for science.
"It's time for Mott to provide its customers with the same quality of product and
service for wood casework as it has for decades in steel casework and fume hoods.
What better place could there be than the heart of the Appalachian Mountains to
find traditional wood craftsmanship" said Ed Seegmiller, President and CEO.
After a long search for the right mix of location and talent, Mott purchased a building
and acquired management and manufacturing personnel from an established manufacturer.
Doug Walton, VP of Manufacturing brings 30 years of casework experience to the team.
"We've taken an experienced team and complimented them with the most modern equipment
available", he said.
Mario DiFonte, VP of Sales said, "Mott built its reputation on customer service,
a commitment to established standards for excellence, and utilizing state-of-the-art
tooling. This plant is our latest testament to that commitment."
The plant is not only designed to manufacture first order casework for science but
is also designed to be environmentally friendly. The flat line UV finish system
keeps tens of thousands of pounds of VOC's out of the local atmosphere. All sawdust
is recycled, and Mott is committed to using sustainable materials and will provide
NAUF (No Added Urea Formaldehyde) projects whenever specified.
Cabinets are made to SEFA (Scientific Equipment and Furniture Association) and AWI
(Architectural Woodworking Institute) standards and, when specified, will be manufactured
to contribute points to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) registered
projects.
Mott's ISO 9001-2000 certification is the cornerstone of its commitment to a process
that works for its customers every time. "To manufacture products that are made
well, made on time, and made affordable, takes a total commitment to an effective
customer friendly process. Mott is serious about that commitment", said Ed Seegmiller.
He also said, "We look forward to working with the design and end user communities
as we compliment the success we've had with steel casework and fume hoods with a
new generation of wood casework products. Cabinets are coming off the line, the
plant is running well, and we're excited."
